Bio
I have been Head Professional at Delamere Forest since April 2007 having spent 6 years as Head professional at Fulford golf club in York. I turned professional in 1986 and commenced my training at Malkins Bank and Astbury golf respectively. From 1991, I spent 8 years working for the highly respected Tommy Horton MBE at the Royal Jersey Golf Club, where I learnt a great deal from the 2-time Ryder Cup player and leading Senior Tour money winner.
It is my goal to pass that knowledge to my many pupils and clients, in a concerted effort to help improve both their skill and enjoyment of this great game.
In addition to my extensive coaching knowledge and experience I use the latest technology available to ensure that I can properly analyse and tailor your swing and clubs to your unique and individual requirements.

Fitting
Using the correct equipment is so important in order to you to play to your full potential. Using the Vector Pro Launch monitor we can help you choose the right driver or hybrid to suit of game. Martin W. Brown is an accredited PING fitter.
It is my belief golfers should carry the correct clubs to do the job in hand. We offer a free assessment of your correct set make up. Recently more and more golfers including Tour Professionals carry more hybrids and wedges than ever before. It is these clubs I believe are the “scoring clubs” for most golfers.
Coaching
Having been lucky enough to work for Tommy Horton, who not only was a wonderful player, but he also still is a much sought after coach working with many European Golfing Federations. This experience, which continues to this day, ensures I offer the very best in coaching.
For many golfers the best teacher is still the ball flight. Understanding angles of attack, path and plane are still the best way to learn. Remember the old saying “the ball won’t lie”. Video analysis helps those non-believers!
Many Delamere Forest members have benefited from “getting up and down with Martin Brown”. The short game is what makes players great. Over the years the best players have not only been fantastic ball strikers but they have the best short games, Gary Player, Tom Watson, Seve and Tiger Woods to name a few.
